Danathos Chapter of the National Honor Society
Students who have attained a 94.5% overall GPA by the end of the first semester of their sophomore or junior year may be offered induction into the Danathos Chapter of the National Honor Society. In addition to qualifying for induction academically, students who are invited to join the chapter must exemplify the qualities of leadership and character, as well as be willing to commit to service projects with the chapter. NHS members must complete 15 service hours a year that are sponsored by the chapter to maintain membership as well as continue to succeed academically, determined by a percentage agreed upon by the NHS counsel. Danville Area High School students are invited to be inducted during either the spring of their sophomore or junior year. The Danathos Chapter does not induct members during their senior year.
To be eligible for candidacy in the Danathos Chapter of the National Honor Society, students must have been a student at Danville Senior High School for a minimum of three semesters and be in their sophomore or junior year.
